Naked Cannibal Eating Man’s Face Shot Dead By Miami Police

This is grisly so you may not want to read it.

On Saturday, just off Miami’s MacArthur Causeway, Larry Vega was cycling along when saw a naked man eating another naked man’s face. Vega stopped and told him to get off the victim but “the other guy just kept eating the other guy away.” Vega spotted a Miami Police office nearby and waved him over to the scene.

The officer ordered the man to stop, but, Vega said, “The guy just stood, his head up like that with pieces of flesh in his mouth. And he growled.” The officer fired once, but the man showed no signs of stopping and the officer eventually killed him. The victim, miraculously, is alive but in critical condition.

Miami police officer Armando Aguilar told NBC 6: “Seventy-five to 80 percent of his face was missing, and he was actually swallowing pieces of the man’s face.”

The cannibal has been identified as 31-year-old Rudy Eugene, 31 is suspected to have been high on a drug known as “bath salts.” The dangerous drug, which is banned in many states, but so far has no specific federal ban, is available on the street and also at many tobacco and drug paraphernalia shops under names like Vanilla Sky, Ivory Wave, White China, Dynamite and Cloud 9.

Bath salts — a toxic cocktail of the amphetamines, Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), mephedrone, and pyrovalerone. The Drug Enforcement Agency groups bath salts with mescaline and ephedrine, while dealers market the drug as a replacement for cocaine or a synthetic form of the hallucinogen LSD, according to CNN.

Leathery Mom Denies Taking 5yo Daughter into Tanning Booth

A New Jersey woman has been charged with felony child endangerment after she allegedly took her five-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, where the child suffered serious burns. Even Snooki, the tanning queen herself, does not approve.

The investigation of Krentcil began after cops were summoned to the elementary school attended by the kindergartener, who was in pain due to what appeared to be a severe sunburn. The subsequent probe determined, cops allege, that Krentcil took her child into a tanning booth at a Nutley parlor a week prior to her April 24 arrest.

State law bars children under the age of 14 from using a tanning facility. Investigators contend that Krentcil brought her daughter into a stand-up tanning booth without the knowledge of parlor employees.

Putting a 5 year old in a tanning bed is horrible for any child but would be especially dangerous for this beautiful little girl. The risk of melanoma is more than 10 times higher for whites than for African Americans. Whites with fair skin, freckles, or red or blond hair have a higher risk of melanoma. Red-haired people have the highest risk. There’s no such thing as a “healthy” tan. The damage to the skin is irreversible. Children are particularly vulnerable. Yet because tanning is thought of as a sign of health, affluence and beauty in our culture, people don’t take the risks seriously.

How to Help a Hickey

TMZ  recently reported that Kim Kardashian was spotted sporting that telltale mark of love: a hickey. It makes sense considering it was spotted the day after her movie date with Kanye West. We’re calling PUBLICITY STUNT here at our office. What can Kim do to improve the appearance of her love bite? Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do about this affliction. A hickey is nothing more than a bruise, and like all bruises it just needs some time to heal. You can, however, try a few tricks to make it fade faster.

  1. A cold compress such as an icepack or a bag of frozen peas should be applied to the affected area for 20-30 minutes in order to speed healing and reduce swelling by constricting the underlying blood vessels in response to the cold. Do not apply ice directly to the skin. Wrap the icepack in a towel.
  2. Avoid aspirin because aspirin slows the blood from clotting and may, in fact, prolong the bleeding.
  3. After about 48 hours, heat in the form of a warm washcloth applied to the bruise for 10 minutes or so two or three times a day may increase blood flow to the bruised area, allowing the skin to reabsorb the blood more quickly. Ultimately, the bruise will fade in color.
  4. Rub a little tincture of arnica or arnica gel onto the bruise. Arnica (Arnica montana) comes from a plant in the daisy family that grows in the Rocky Mountains, and may be helpful for bruises and sore muscles.
  5. Apply concealer in a shade that’s lighter than your natural skin color and discreet enough to fend off unwanted attention.
  6. The best treatment for a hickey: wear scarf and wait it out.

What’s for dinner? Human Flesh?!

An upcoming Dutch television show will highlight two Dutch TV hosts dining on each others cooked flesh before a live studio audience. Each host chose the body part they desired to be consumed. A piece of a left butt cheek and abdomen will be on the menu this evening. After a surgeon removed the pieces of flesh a chef prepared it in sunflower oil. We do a lot of things with skin but this is defiantly not one of them!

Women Dies after Injecting Beef Fat into Face

Want to get rid of those wrinkles without paying a lot of money? Some people take at home procedures to the next level. An Illinois woman recently died of a bacterial infection after injecting her face with hot beef fat in an apparent attempt to self-treat wrinkles, ABC news reports.

The women had appeared to a local ER complaining that her face was burning after her home injections. The women had infections and scarring due to the procedure, however a autopsy later determined she died of peritonitis.

There are many people injecting themselves at home, however I would never recommend this. Check out the video below showing a segment from Studio 11 LA where I discuss other things people inject into their own face.

A Cure for Cankles

Do you know what “cankles” are?  If not, you probably don’t have them, but if you do, you are probably pretty conscious of them, and try to hide them most of the time.  “Cankles” is a term to describe a person who has thick ankles… in other words, their calf, which is usually the widest part of the leg below the knee, doesn’t taper down towards the ankles, so the lower legs are thicker, resembling tree trunks.  I know, that’s a terrible, but very accurate description of this condition.  Many may not know that cankles can be minimized pretty simply using liposuction under local anesthesia alone!
Watch Carmen talk about her cankles on Studio11LA on Fox 11 and see how I use liposuction to help eliminate them!

Is Kat Von D losing her hair?

Radar Online is reporting that famous tattoo artist is so stressed that she is losing her hair.

According to a close source, the stress of her recent break-up/make-up with fiancé Jesse James, along with her TLC show being canceled have attributed to her going bald at such a young age.

A source close to the tattoo artist says: “Kat totally has bald spots and it’s from stress. It’s worse than anyone her age should have. She’s started ordering wigs along with the hair pieces and extensions she already uses. I feel really bad for her because the bald spots are horrible. The stress of losing her hair is only stressing her out more and making it worse!”

If these accounts from the source are actually true there are two conditions that may be occurring with Kat. She is likely suffering from Telogen Effluvium or Alopecia Areata. Without seeing pictures of the hair loss these diagnoses are purely speculation from the above description.

Telogen Effluvium

Can stress really make your hair fall out? Absolutely! Telogen effluvium is a scalp disorder characterized by massive hair loss as a result of early entry of hairs into the telogen phase.  Emotional or physiological events may result in an alteration of the normal hair cycle. It may be due to a variety of causes, eating disorders, fever, childbirth, chronic illness, major surgery, anemia, severe emotional disorders, crash diets, hypothyroidism, and drugs. Typically a person with telogen effluvium will experience the hair loss approximately 3-4 months after the stressful event. The good news about this condition is that it is usually temporary and all of your hair will most likely grow back.

Alopecia Areata

If Kat had bald spots that are completely hair free she would most likely be suffering from a condition called Alopecia Areata. Alopecia areata is a hair loss condition where your  immune system mistakenly attacks your hair follicles. You will usually see hair fall out in clumps and are left with round patches that are completely bald. Alopecia Areata can not only affect the scalp but it can also affect facial hair such as eyebrows or beards in men. Typically hair will grow back in 6-12 months. The most common treatment for Alopecia Areata is  cortisone injections into the bald spots.

Hair loss for anyone, women especially, can be devastating. Consulting your health care provider for treatment options can be beneficial.

Kim Kardashian Diagnosed With Psoriasis

On a recent episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” Kim Kardashian took time to visit her dermatologist and discovered that a flaky rash on her leg was in fact psoriasis.

Psoriasis is a common skin condition that causes skin redness and irritation. Most people with psoriasis have thick, red skin with flaky, silver-white patches called scales. Unpredictable and irritating, psoriasis is one of the most baffling and persistent of skin disorders. It’s characterized by skin cells that multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. Skin cells grow deep in the skin and normally rise to the surface about once a month. In persons with psoriasis, this process is too fast (about 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks) and dead skin cells build up on the skin’s surface.

People who get psoriasis usually have one or more person in their family who has psoriasis. Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, revealed that she also suffers from psoriasis. Not everyone who has a family member with psoriasis will get psoriasis.

While there is no cure for psoriasis there are many treatments that can help control the condition.

Zac Efron’s Extra Nipples?

*image via gawker

It is not widely known, but about one in 50 women and one in 100 men have a third nipple. This goes by several names besides “third nipple”. It is a supernumerary nipple, accessory nipple, pseudomamma, polythelia, or polymastia. It is often not entirely developed as a fully functioning nipple. Sometimes it can be mistaken for a mole. The third nipple usually has no clinical significance as long as nothing else is wrong.

They are not properly formed like normal nipples and can usually be found on an imaginary ‘milk line’ between the armpit and inner thigh. If you feel uncomfortable about yours, it’s probably best to speak to your dermatologist or general practitioner to determine whether surgery is needed. One celebrity that stands out as possibly having one, possible two, accessory nipples is Zac Efron. Extra nipple or not I’m sure there would be plenty of girls lined up for Zac.

Check out my contribution to these post about Zac Efron’s suspected extra nipples here, here and here
