It has taken us years and we have tried numerous brands and types of cosmeceuticals that treat a myriad of different problems. Each product that we carry has been chosen carefully and with much thought. We carry many different lines, and since our staff and physicians personally use our products we stand by the products we carry and believe we have found the most effective products for all skin types. In particular we specialize in products to diminish photoaging, help prevent skin cancers, lighten browns spots, and help diminish acne. Our physicians will tailor a program just for you. PrevageMD
What is the difference between PREVAGE™ and PREVAGE™ MD? Idebenone, a powerful antioxidant, and the Prevage brand have begun to capture the attention of those particularly interested in healthy-looking skin. Elizabeth Arden has received a license to market a version of Prevage. The treatment sold by Elizabeth Arden will be 0.5% - strength idebenone.
Prevage MD anti-aging treatment is sold exclusively through physicians' offices. It is a full 1% strength idebenone, the strongest concentration of the strongest topical antioxidant available. An antioxidant works by scavenging harmful free radicals in skin cells and protects skin from damage from external environmental stressors such as UV light, air pollution, ozone, and cigarette smoke. In other words, Idebenone 1% can correct skin damage that is already present and protect skin from future damage. While patients may become interested in idebenone and Prevage through media or retail exposure to the name, the strength of Prevage MD is unique to physicians' offices.
Using Prevage MD anti-aging treatment in a daily skin care regimen:

TNS Recovery Complex
Comprised principally of NouriCel-MD® - a proprietary mix of multiple human growth factors, soluble collagen, matrix proteins, and antioxidants discovered through wound healing research, TNS Recovery Complex delivers visible improvement to aging and sun-damaged skin. Studies show dramatic improvements in dyspigmentation, the appearance of wrinkles, and an overall increase in skin firmness and resiliency. It's the essential cornerstone any anti-aging regimen to be used morning and night for all skin types.
Topical Tretinoin (Renova, RetinA, Avage, Tazorac)
The retinoid, or vitamin A products, are still considered the gold standard topical treatment for aging skin. The products we carry are different and superior to retinol products which are available over the counter. The potent topical vitamin A products we carry are prescription forms of vitamin A that pack a powerful punch against aging skin. These products have been used for over a decade already, many clinical studies have proven that they aid in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, inducing collagen regeneration, and even treat precancers and help prevent future skin cancers from forming.
Latisse
LATISSE® is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker. With LATISSE®, watch your own lashes grow longer, thicker and darker in as little as 6 weeks. Ask us about results we've seen in our office and if LATISSE® is right for you. Some of our patient's own lashes have grown so long, they need to be trimmed!
Sunscreens for Face & Body
UVA & UVB rays emitted by the sun penetrate unprotected skin and can damage it. Long term sun exposure to UVA & UVB contributes to premature aging, increases the risk of skin cancer and can lead to other skin problems such as dark spots and increased blood vessels.
We recommend a sunscreen with broad spectrum coverage (i.e., blocks both UVA & UVB rays). Most sunscreens block UVB rays, but many do not block UVA rays. UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin and causes wrinkling. Both UVA & UVB rays contribute to the formation of skin cancers.
We recommend sunscreen that is at least SPF 15. To maximize benefits, sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure and should be reapplied every few hours, more often if you are sweating or exposed to water. Look for ingredients such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide to be assured that you are properly protected (these block both UVA & UVB rays). Below are some sunscreens that we recommend:
**Celex C SPF 30 (water resistant) - good for times of excess sun exposure (beach, golfing, soccer game)
**Celex C SPF30+ (face) - good for times of excess sun exposure, does not clog facial pores
**Melashade SPF30 (face) - excellent for the face, particularly those with oily complexions. Doesn't sting the eyes, and is works very well under makeup.
**Antioxidant Facial Sunscreen SPF30 - contains both excellent sunscreen ingredients and topical antioxidants, so simultaneously prevents future damage from the sun and reverses sun damage already existing!

Sunscreens
Melashade SPF 30MelaShade contains only Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide for gentle, broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Unlike most physicals sunscreens, which leave a "pasty white" appearance, this chemical-free, fragrance-free formula dries clear.
Our MelaShade has a specially formulated fragrance-free, silicone base that dries clear with a silky matte-finish. It is perfect for all skin types including sensitive, acne and rosacea. Melashade is also gentle enough for post procedure.
Vivite® System The VIVITÉ® line consists of the VIVITÉ® System―4 products that serve as the foundation for any advanced skin care routine
VIVITÉ® Daily Antioxidant Facial Serum provides antioxidant protection to help fight premature aging and delivers a regular application of glycolics to help hydration and renovation of the top layer of skin. Contains 15% glycolic compound. Perfect under the VIVITÉ® Daily Facial Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30, as well as under makeup. To be used once daily, in the morning.
VIVITÉ® Night Renewal Facial Cream is an extra-rich formulation that helps promote overnight maintenance and aids in the repair of the skin. Contains 20% glycolic compound. To be used once daily, in the evening.
VIVITÉ® Exfoliating Facial Cleanser helps loosen the unproductive top layer of skin so you can scrub it away and reveal fresh, new skin. Contains 15% glycolic compound, as well as exfoliating microbeads to thoroughly help dissolve accumulated dead skin cells. To be used 2 to 3 times a week.
VIVITÉ® Revitalizing Eye Cream is specially formulated to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the sensitive areas around the eye, as well as help minimize the appearance of dark circles. Contains 10% glycolic compound. To be used twice daily, morning and evening.
Mineralized make-up
Skin Physicians & Surgeons carries a complete line of Mineralized Makeup. We carry everything from foundations, blushes, eye shadow, eyeliner, lip liner, lipstick and more. We feature mineral makeup that is both paraben-free and phthalate-free, some of the best choices out there.
Mineral makeup offers such properties as deflecting light so that wrinkles and fine lines are less visible, mineral makeup does not treat any conditions, such as rosacea, but will cover flaws.
Which mineral makeup you buy is a subjective decision – we suggest you try samples, smaller sizes or a handful of brands before deciding on the final product that you prefer and can afford. Experiment until you find the product that is right for you.
